Simple language is the key to understanding – especially for immigrants in everyday life and at work. Discover how hello gill promotes integration through clear communication.

Arriving in a new environment is challenging, especially when language becomes
a barrier. This is precisely where simple language comes in: it makes things understandable for everyone. And it opens up opportunities – especially in professional life.
What is simple language?
Plain language is not the same as simplified language. It is aimed at people who can read but not (yet) at a native level. This includes many immigrants, but also people with learning difficulties or limited German skills.
Typical features are:
short sentences
clear structure
familiar words
active rather than passive language
no technical terms without explanation
Why is plain language so important?
Language is the key to participation. Whether at government offices, at work or at the doctor's: those who don't understand are excluded. Simple language creates access to information, education, work and social participation.
At hello gill, we therefore consciously focus on simple but precise communication. In our courses, we teach practical German tailored to everyday working life and life in Switzerland – in a way that is understandable, respectful and on an equal footing.
Conclusion: simple is powerful
Simple language is not a step backwards – it is a tool for inclusion. It makes communication more human and fairer. For us, it is part of our commitment to integration through language.
